What Features Can I Add to a Game Room?

Including a game room in your Delaware home is probably the hands-down best method of gaining a fun and relaxing space that everyone can enjoy. Game rooms can be built to accommodate the youth in your home, or can be a great adult-age getaway that offers plenty to do in entertaining both alone and with a gaggle of friends.

But when it comes to filling it out do you have any idea of what to even put in your game room? Bath, Kitchen, and Tile Center certainly has some ideas! Today we’ll be exploring some of the most fun and unique features that come up in many modern game room designs.

A Note on Planning

It’s important to note that when going into game room design, you’ll need to first hash out who exactly is going to be using the space the most. Is your game room kid-friendly, or is this a strictly “for the grownups” space? There are plenty of ways to get all you want and more, but starting by defining the space can keep you from overloading your game room to the point of clutter.

Exciting Game Room Features to Add to Your Delaware Home

The sky is very nearly the limit when it comes to adding to something as open-ended as a game room, but we would call these some of our favorites:

  • Some high-class sound system design. Though somewhat “standard” when it comes to game room design, we cannot stress the importance of a top-class sound system. Whether it’ll be piping lounge music over end of day cigars or the next big game will be booming out of the speakers, you’ll want a system that can deliver enjoyable quality.
  • Custom or full-service game table. Complete custom game tables can offer plenty of fun for groups. These are usually equipped with full amenities and pieces for poker, dice, and often come with built in board game classics as well.
  • A wet bar. Though certainly a more adult-oriented game room kind of option, a wet bar can put lots of class and functionality both into your Delaware game room.
  • Antique arcade systems. There are plenty of gaming consoles and PC options out there for sure, but there’s something to be said about having your very own vintage Pac-Man or Centipede cabinet. When it comes to retro style points, nothing else comes close.
  • Built-in storage. Though this is probably the least “fun” option on our list, storage is nevertheless arguably one of the most important. Game rooms see a lot of use, and can be home to nearly countless small items. When these items don’t have a home to be in, things can get hairy in a hurry and spoil all the fun. Look to custom cabinetry or built-in shelving and cabinets for a discreet and effective solution that won’t elbow in on your design aesthetic.
